Die Bismarcksäule in Hannover war anfangs ein Turm zum Zwecke erst patriotisch-nationaler, später auch nationalsozialistischer Großveranstaltungen: Die Säule auf dem Gebiet des später ausgeschachteten Maschsees nahe dem Schnellen Graben war am 10. Mai 1933 Schauplatz der Bücherverbrennung in Hannover.
